14th June 2014, 11am – 4pm

Come down on Saturday 14th June to Castle Square in Swansea to take part in a free drawing workshop using ipads connected to the big screen, instant streaming, or use traditional chalk and charcoal to create one giant pavement drawing. This event is part of the Return Journey community project that is based on the story written for radio by Dylan Thomas, recalling his return to Swansea after the war. elysium invites members of the public to draw their own images of present day Swansea. The work generated will be a part of the elysiumgallery From Here & There drawing exhibitions and events in November and December.

This is a chance for the people of Swansea to record through drawing their own personal memories and relationship with Swansea’s past present and future’.

Everyone can draw. It is about mark making.
The event is free and everyone welcome.

The project Return Journey was initiated by and is being co-ordinated by Ann Jordan, Director of elysiumgallery as part of the gallery’s contribution to the Dylan Thomas Centenary Celebrations.

Additional Community based workshops are being run by established artists, Anna Barratt, Lucy Donald and Tim Kelly, who are working with Terrace Rd Primary School,Cryg Glas, Age Cymru, Swansea Bay Asylum Seekers Group, Esgyr, Caer Las and the general public.
