Alan Roberts works in fused glass, screen-printing and mixed media. He derives his influences from a wide variety of subjects. These include the natural world, science and fiction, the political situation, the inequalities of our financial system and the state of our world.
He likes to use his work to comment on the absurdities in everyday life in a humorous way.
His main hope is that seeing his work will give people pause for thought and a smile.
Alan is originally from Liverpool and studied Physics at Aston. Achieving a Doctorate he went on to a career in high temperature materials research, especially vitreous materials.
Following this he was in business and education before retiring to pursue his interest in the arts. He exhibits at the Attic Gallery in Swansea and recently in Y Galeri, Caerphilly, and Galerie Simpson, Swansea, as part of Swansea Print Workshop exhibitions.
