Rachel Harrison lives and works in Swansea where she has a studio with Elysium (High Street).
Drawing on her early experience of living in the heart of the Gower coast and countryside her work concerns an exploration of life, as both survival and celebration.
She is drawn to the innate beauty of organic structures, their resilience and strength.
Using oils predominantly, she portrays and explores the transience of living with human faces and forms, plant forms and the personalities that reside within them, often employing a high colour palette to celebrate the vibrancy and intensity of the natural world.
Rachel studied and developed her artistic practice in Swansea and St. Ives.
