Steph Mastoris is a typographic artist who uses traditional letterpress techniques. His work is concerned with the power and elegance of letterforms, both in isolation and assembled into words.
Currently Steph is exploring the impact of punctuation on certain words, and the complex yet playful interactions of their spellings, sounds and meanings. His work is often formed into small vertical triptychs.
Steph studied history at London University and has worked as a museum curator for over thirty years. He is currently on the staff of Amgueddfa Cymru-National Museum Wales.
