Sport has formed a large part of shaping Swansea’s identity on national and international stages. From the Jacks and the ‘Spreys to historic events such as Gary Sobers’ groundbreaking six sixes and the protests at St Helens over the apartheid rules of South Africa in 1969, Swansea has always been a city where sporting excellence is encouraged and celebrated. This exhibition aims to celebrate Swansea’s sporting heritage, considering the diverse scenes that take place in parks, playing fields, sports halls and all manner of other venues across the city. This exhibition showcases the work of 7 local photographers who are documenting the numerous sporting activities happening in the city and beyond.
