‘My paintings originally explored underland abstract landscapes and environments inspired by a subjective interpretation of the hills around me through marking making.

These paintings were an attempt to create environments built out of memories of places and objective viewpoints depicting metaphysical connections to the environment.

Recently my paintings have been inspired by drawings made outside on daily walks during lockdown. Through drawing and painting outside I have been trying to consolidate my surroundings into calmer more mediative works, using a more economic approach to painting’.

Dylan Williams (b. 1995) is a painter who studied at Bath Spa University and Swansea College of Art and is based at Elysium Gallery’s Orchard Street studios. Dylan is in the process of completing his MA in Fine Art at Swansea College of Art.
