Kavus Torabi
Kavus Torabi is a British/ Iranian composer, multi-instrumentalist, performer, author, artist, broadcaster and DJ. His largely autobiographical solo work marries the human with the celestial
Since 2016 he has fronted legendary psychedelic band Gong with whom he is principal songwriter. He is a member of the semi-modular experimental/ psychedelic trio The Utopia Strong. He is a former guitarist of British cult band, Cardiacs and avant rock instrumentalists Guapo. As part of a a DJ duo with Steve Davis, he has performed festivals throughout the UK, recently performing at Wembley Stadium between bands for Blur’s comeback performance. In 2021 White Rabbit published, Medical Grade Music, his memoir with Steve Davis which was Shindig’s music book of the year.
In April 2024 his commissioned piece ‘Lion Of The Lord’s Elect’ made its debut at Roadburn Festival, NE
Reuben’s Daughters
Leylanding, Reuben Myles Tyghe’s second album as Reuben’s Daughters, finds the UK singer/songwriter pushing the sound of his 2022 debut LP Mami Wata into new and fascinating places—recalling the Sea and Cake’s airy post-rock sonics, the wooly chamber-pop of Super Furry Animals godhead Gruff Rhys, and the Beta Band’s more acoustic moments. Tyghe and his six piece band will embark on a summer tour in support of the record, including appearances at the 2025 Glastonbury Festival and Beautiful Days Festival.
Rainyday Rainbow
Rainyday Rainbow is a radtastic band containing the talons of Egg Spectrum, Blind Captain Williams, Biscuit Based, and Formaggio Khan. Featuring twisty turny thought juice, smothered in smashed up slithers of Psychedelic sauce, and pezazzed with punchy Punk doom.
If you’re familiar with acid jams from the 60’s such as Jefferson Airplane and The Grateful Dead, or mega mammoths such as King Gizzard, The Melvins and Ty Segall, or even graciously glam sounds such as Ziggy era Bowie… Imagine that but slotted together like a jigsaw puzzle made out of tree pines and then glued together by someone under the influence of mescaline; you now have something similar to Rainyday Rainbow!
In a nutshell Rainyday Rainbow are an aural procedure to draw out the grey worms from your ear-canal and inject cosmic candy colour serum into your skulls, and are sure to take you on a journey!
