Times: 10am – 4pm

Featuring: Cerys Thomas-Ford, Christina Rowlands, Dan Butler, Delyth Lloyd-Evans, James Milligan, Nicola Dowdle, Robert Nicholls, Tim Stokes.

Friday May the 22nd marks the beginning of a visual feast in the city centre. Alongside the opening of UWTSD’s Foundation and BA Degree shows, the MA Contemporary Dialogues course will also be opening their graduating cohort’s exhibition.

‘CREdU’, derived from the Welsh ‘Creu’ meaning to make/create and ‘Credu’ meaning to believe, is an exciting, innovative off-site venture at elysiumgallery and the Ragged School. The students have not only responded to their own themes of nostalgia, memory, space/place, control and materiality, but have also woven together a narrative within the spaces to create a dynamic, thought-provoking end to their MA dialogues. The graduates engage in diverse practices, including animation, ceramics, installation, painting, performance, photography and video to explore new ways of thinking, responding and creating, culminating in what promises to be a richly layered, immersive show.

Mae ‘CREdU’, sy’n deillio o’r geiriau Cymraeg ‘Creu’ a ‘Credu’, yn fenter gyffrous, arloesol oddi ar safle yn elysiumgallery a’r Ragged School, lle mae’r myfyrwyr nid yn unig wedi ymateb i’w themâu personol o hiraeth, côf, gofod/ lle, rheolaeth a pherthnasedd, ond hefyd wedi gwau at eu gilydd naratif o fewn y mannau arddangos i greu diweddglo deinamig ac ysgogol i’w deialogau MA. Mae’r graddedigion yn cymryd rhan mewn ymarferion amrywiol gan gynnwys animeiddio, cerameg, gosodiad, peintio, perfformans, ffotograffiaeth a fideo i archwilio ffyrdd newydd o feddwl, ymateb a chreu, sydd yn dod i benllanw mewn sioe sy’n argoeli i fod yn un aml-haenog a chyfoethog ei synhwyrau.
