JUDGES
Peter Finnemore
Finnemore’s artistic practice is existential in nature, revolving around imaginative explorations of the porous overlaps between self, boundaries, culture, time and history. He mixes strategies of depth psychology, alchemy, witness and participation; often these features are leavened with dark humor. His artwork is characterised by fluid visual intelligence. Born in Llanelli, Wales, Finnemore studied Fine Art Photography at the Glasgow School of Art under the mentorship of Thomas Joshua Cooper and Roger Palmer in the 1980’s. He received his MFA in Photography at University of Michigan, USA and has exhibited his work all over the world and has represented Wales at the Venice Biennale.

Helen Sear
Helen Sear studied Fine Art at Reading University and University College London, Slade School, with her practice coming to prominence in the late 1980s, when she worked primarily through installation, performance and film. Her photographic works became widely known in the 1991 British Council exhibition, De-Composition: Constructed Photography in Britain, which toured Latin America and Eastern Europe.
She continues to explore ideas of vision, touch, and the re-presentation of the nature of experience with particular reference to the human and animal body and her immediate environment in rural Wales and France. Helen Sear has been selected to represent Wales at the Venice Biennale in 2015.
