We are delighted to present the Dave Cottle Trio, featuring Gary Phillips (a highly regarded guitarist in his own right) and Dave’s son Tom on drums as a special treat. They are heading to Brecon Jazz Festival the following day so we consider it a coup that we have been able to bring them to Swansea’s High Street.
Having been awarded the Services to Music award by the Lord Mayor of Swansea in 2018, it is hard to understate the impact Dave has had on the music scene in Swansea. He has played piano since the age of five, is a multi-instrumentalist, and has organised the weekly Swansea Jazz Club events since 1995. He also instigated the Swansea Jazz Festival in 2014 and has numerous other ongoing projects, including the Ella and Louis Show, the Cottle Brothers (who still reunite for Special Events) his own Big Band “The Power of Gower” – an 18-piece powerhouse jazz ensemble.
