With riffs that may bite your arm off, drum beats that’ll saturate your soul and deeply carved lyrics that’ll last a lifetime – AKiMBO are experimenting an unconventional yet familiar style of noise. With a vibrant tone and wicked personality, AKiMBO looks set to penetrate the front doors of original Welsh music. Be ready.
SWAN HILL are a band from Swansea that make 90s inspired, fuzzed out, power-pop guitar music that will make you think you’ve died and gone to Jazzmaster heaven.
Originally formed as a Garageband lockdown project, the band have spent the last couple of years gigging across the UK, filling small stages with effects pedals, telling lots of inside jokes and generally being noisy.
The latest single, ‘Unlucky’, (mixed and mastered by Tom Rees of Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard) rounds off 2022 with a signature blend of intricate melodies and big, fuzzy guitars. Word on the street is that there will be even more music from Swan Hill to come in the near future.
‘Taxi Rank’ are a five-piece, independent, rock and roll ensemble from Swansea, South Wales. They have been together since 2018 and have grown locally as one of the best and most attuned groups in the area. Taxi Rank have played and headlined multiple venues and released a modest number of successful tracks since their formation, even reaching the airwaves of BBC Radio Wales.
Free entry. Music from 8pm.
