THIRDSPACE
The Third Space of the building is dedicated to connecting with local community and providing a space which can be accessible to everyone. Organisations such as, ASDES, Shine Cymru and Gower College Swansea are some of our long standing collaborators. Through working with them on our Connect and Flourish project, we have been able to facilitate workshops, exhibitions and outreach programmes with a focus on inclusive arts projects with neurodivergent adults. Other projects have focussed on finding alternate sustainable art materials in Eco Visions, providing a platform for communities to express themselves in Ways of Protest.
These projects build confidence and independence. In collaboration with these groups we have been creating suitable learning environments for inclusive learning in which participants can thrive.
Our learning programme enables participants to engage with themes and issues of the exhibitions and issues of local concern highlighted by the voice of community groups.
We encourage the use of recycled matter as art materials and eco friendly alternatives by offering creative, practical ideas using that can be used at home and within our workshops.
Our workshops have a diversity reach, are community-oriented, and responsive (call and action). They also have a strong social aspect to them where people can socialise and meet new friends.
