The majority of exhibitions at elysium gallery are initiated by the Curatorial Team; however, the Gallery is happy to accept exhibition proposals from artists at any time.
As we receive such a high number of enquiries from artists, we are unable to accommodate requests for artists to meet with the Programming Team directly straight away.
Before submitting a proposal, we suggest artists familiarise themselves with the Gallery’s programme and its spaces. The exhibitions programme is planned at least two years in advance.
We have three exhibition spaces at 210 High street, which usually run three different exhibitions at the same time. (see venue hire section for other exhibiting options)
Gallery One is our main large exhibitions space
Gallery Two is the smaller exhibition space
Gallery Three is a small room for experimentation
Programming decisions are made in accordance with our partnerships and any funding agreements we may have. Please see Exhibitions for an overview of our exhibitions programme.
Proposals can be submitted by email or post and should contain the following information:
- Name and contact details
- A brief written introduction to your practice
- Biography – including details of recent exhibitions or publications
- A brief description of what you propose for elysium gallery
- A selection of images / documentation of your work
Please do not send any original art works or images by post as elysium gallery cannot be responsible for them.
Please send your proposal to either:
Please ensure the total size of any attachments does not exceed 5MB
By post to: Programming Team, elysium gallery, 210 High street, Swansea, Wales, SA1 1PE
Please note that the Gallery does not acknowledge the receipt of proposals and will only contact artists, via email or letter, after the proposal has been considered and a decision agreed upon. The Programming Team meets twice a year to consider exhibition proposals.
If you wish to have your proposal returned to you after a decision has been made, please provide a clearly marked stamped addressed envelope. Although we will make every effort to return everything to you, elysium gallery cannot take any responsibility for any loss or damage caused to your application.
