A Vibrational World
The Progression of NO WORD by Lianne Morgan
A Vibrational World is the latest evolution of NO WORD, a long-term project by fine artist Lianne Morgan that investigates how we connect and communicate with our environments and one another without relying on spoken or written language. Through her artistic exploration, Lianne has uncovered the fundamental role that frequency, sound, and energy play in natural communication. Every human cell carries a unique sonic signature; our hearts and brains emit frequencies, as do plants, animals, and even the Earth itself, most notably through the phenomenon known as the Schumann Resonance.
A significant portion of Lianne’s work is rooted in sound. During her debut solo exhibition, she became acutely aware of the inaccessibility of sound and film-based works for Deaf and neurodiverse audiences. A pivotal moment came during a British Sign Language (BSL) tour of her exhibition, where conversations with members of the Deaf community sparked new questions around inclusivity and sensory experience in art.
As a result, Lianne is now developing a new body of work that reimagines how sound and visual art can be experienced in galleries and performance spaces. This phase of A Vibrational world prioritizes accessibility for Deaf, neurodiverse, and non-verbal audiences, aiming to create immersive installations that transcend traditional sensory boundaries and improve their accessibility.
Lianne invites individuals who face these accessibility barriers—as well as fellow artists, practitioners, and advocates—to participate in focus groups and collaborative sessions. These dialogues will play a vital role in shaping more inclusive artistic experiences and pushing the boundaries of how art can communicate beyond words.
BSL Interpretation will be provided for this event.
10-minute breaks will be provided every 20 minutes.
